This painting began with a question I couldn't shake: what does it feel like to be truly safe?
Not safe because nothing can touch us. But safe because we are held.
We are held in the loving arms of God.
I wanted to paint that feeling — the soul as a small sleeping child, wrapped in warmth that asks nothing in return. Colors swirling like breath, like wings folding close, like a shelter that was there before we ever thought to look for it.
“He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge.” - Psalm 91:4
