What it would feel like to be truly treasured?

Have you ever wondered what it would feel like to be truly treasured?

Not for what you achieve.
Not for how beautiful, useful, successful, or strong you appear.
Not because you have something to offer.

But simply because you are you.

There is something deep inside every human heart that longs to be seen this way. To be looked at with kindness. To be known completely — our dreams, our wounds, our quiet fears — and still be loved.

Perhaps this longing appears in small moments of everyday life: in the warmth of a friend’s embrace, in the way someone remembers a detail we once shared, in the feeling of being welcomed home after a long journey. These moments touch something ancient within us — the desire to know that we matter.

My painting “The Treasured” was born from this quiet longing.

It is a reflection of a love that does not measure our worth by what we accomplish, but sees the beauty hidden within us. A love that calls us precious before we have done anything to earn it.

The world often teaches us to prove ourselves — to become more, achieve more, and be more. But perhaps the deepest healing begins when we discover that our value was never something we had to create. It was already there.

The Bible says, “You are precious in my eyes, and honored, and I love you” (Isaiah 43:4). These words speak of a love that reaches beyond performance and appearance — a love that sees the person beneath everything we try to become.

I created this painting as an invitation to remember something we so easily forget:

You are not invisible.
You are not forgotten.
You are deeply known and treasured.

And perhaps, in the quiet moments when we allow ourselves to be still, we can begin to hear the gentle whisper of the One who has loved us all along.
